Mt. Jacinto - Hike to the Peak - 10,834 ft.
On Saturday August 27th we left for Palm Springs from San Diego at 6am. We boarded the 9am tram up to the 8500 ft station and started on our day's journey at 9:45 to the top of San Jacinto. We started out on a sunny morning but encountered heavy rain, lightning, and thunder and what day would be complete without hail. Along the way to the top we met Fred and Mary from Lynwood and Linda from Palm Springs. Linda acted as our very experienced guide as she has completed the climb many times. Once we got to the top it started to get very windy and chilly. Linda's thermometer read between 45 and 50 degrees. We all split up on the way down and we said our good buys.
